KG Cages have been involved in the manufacture and supply of cages, flights and runs for over 10 years. I'm Keith Gladwell, that's me in the picture below - yes the picture on the right. Keith Gladwell - KG Cages, what a handy set of initials!! It all began when Angela, my wife, bought me some birds and a cage as a birthday present. Well, working long hours as many of us do it was some effort to keep the whole lot clean. I wanted something that would be easier and quicker to clean and soon came to the conclusion that the use of plastic rather than wood offered an effective solution.

The use of plastic had some immediate benefits - no more of that painstaking effort in painting the cages each year (ooh.. how I hate painting!!). So, uPVC was to be the answer. As a machinist by trade I was able to use my engineering background to come up with a simple, but effective, design. This has now been refined over the years - you can see the results on this site, particularly in the picture gallery. The whole thing started of as a part-time hobby but I'm retired now and can devote plenty of time to looking after my birds and making cages and runs for others.

I get great satisfaction both from seeing my birds in a clean environment and the delight of my customers when they see the end product in their home. It's very rewarding to get feedback from them and hear just how easy they now find it to clean and look after their birds.

Anyway what started out as a few cages made for friends quickly grew as word spread. I found myself making more and more, for friends of friends, people that I met at shows, all sorts. My first order for a complete birdroom was really exciting. Making the whole thing, from design to manufacture, start to finish, was terrific fun. It not only looked great but it had everything, from the ease of cleaning right through to it's look and the general brightness it gave in the room. Since then the birdrooms have become bigger and more complex, each one a new challenge in it's own right.

I'm sure you will have fun looking over this site. Remember, if you do not see exactly what you are looking for either drop me an e-mail or contact me direct. I will be glad to help.

Best Regards,

        Keith Gladwell
